Birch Banc Retreats is made up of Husband and Wife, Ioan and Sharon, their 3 Daughters Bethan, Hannah and Sioned and a recent addition of Oscar the Cockerpoo.

Ioan and Sharon purchased their little slice of Mid-Wales some years ago, as it was a piece of the farmstead ‘Bedw’ where Ioan grew up. After a few years of just having their neighbours sheep to manage the land, they pushed forward with looking into opening this space up for others to enjoy.

With the planning permission under their belt, in spring 2020 they moved on with designing a space that would allow you to relax in comfort both indoors and out.

We have worked closely with local and rural producers and manufactures to be able to deliver you a sustainable beautiful design. The Lodge is a bespoke deign Designed by us, built by us, using locally sourced materials where possible, other than Sharon’s dad our steel fabricator, no tradesman has come further than our local town of Llanidloes. and with the help of Sharon’s sister for the interiors and our sister-in-law Teresa’s Design skills with our logo, it really has been created locally using friends and family.

In July 2021 after lots of hard work and dedication, through numerous lockdowns and months of home schooling the children, Birch Banc Retreats welcomed it’s first guests. Ioan and Sharon are now a cleaning team, with additional members during school holidays, who show the utmost attention to detail to give you super clean accommodation every time.

Based in the hills of Mid-wales, with far reaching views down the Severn valley. We have three Luxury Glamping Cabins, each accommodating up to 4 people. And furry friends are more than welcome too. The area has miles and miles of footpaths including the Severn Way, Glyn-Dwrs Way and the Heart of Wales footpath all easily reached from the door of your cabin.

There are many places to visit with-in the vicinity, The magnificent Elan Valley Reservoirs, The Hafren Forest, Gregynog Hall these are just a few of our personal favourites

All lodges are fully equipt with all the luxuries you need and want, but the showstopper has to be the Gigantic marble outdoor bath tub out on the decking of Bedw and Glyn-Haul, and Pen-Rhiw has a gigantic Concrete bath, all baths are big enough to share with your loved ones and perfect for relaxing or stargazing into the night.
